Here is our final digipak. I have chosen black and red to be the main colors for the outside of the digipak because I think that they stand out the most. I have included all the little features which are on normal digipaks, this includes, a barcode, a scan code and copyright information which tells people the producer and owner of the music that is being sold. I have designed the digipak so that rating are on one of the planes. The rating show people that the album is good, the logo is also included on the bottom of the 3rd plane. The band members are listed on the third plane, these includes vocals, drums and guitar. The list of album tracks are on the second plane, this is a common convention in digipaks and we see the track list on nearly every digipak on the back. The text I have used is very bold for the main plane. The 'WAR' is the main chunk of text used in the digipak. Inside 'WAR' there is more text which reads 'this is', I used this because the album name is called 'This Is War'

Evaluation Question 2
How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?
Throughout all three of our products the brand identity is very important, we made sure that we shown our company logo on both the main product and ancillary texts. As you can clearly see the company logo is shown at the end of the video (here) this is linked with thin the ancillary texts here and here. By having this brand identity here it lets the audience straight away know which record company is involved with the song and album this then opens the genre to a new music audience for example if a person listens to other music within that genre the album may appeal to them to because it is the same type of genre and the brand identity symbolises this.
Throughout all our advert drafts we can see that the main headline is the title which shows the audience straight away who is writing and playing the songs attracting them straight away is they like this specific genre. We can see we have used our conventions in the draft 2 of our advert were the singer is located in the advert this links throughout all our products because the main storyline for our music video is based on the singer and his lifestyle so showing the singer on the advert and the album cover gives the audience a inside look to the storyline and lifestyle of the main singer and the rest of the band from one image. By adding the triangle logo to our ancillary texts indicated to the audience which band is playing and who the album belongs to the triangle is the main logo for the band because it means ‘3 members’ as you can see it has 3 sides. As you can see the colour and the text is consistent throughout our ancillary texts we went for the more darker colours and bold text because not only do they stand out to the audience and match our genre of music they also link with our main product, this is because during the storyline of the singer being bullied the dark colours resemble his dark lifestyle and all the hate inside him. On our digi pak we have added some reviews this is very good, we have also used such companies such as Kerrang and MTV which are very popular in the music industry especially MTV and by having these on the Digi Pak it shows the audience that it has got good reviews and is a very good way in promoting our product.
The main storyline to our music video outlines the life of the main character its shows him feeling out of place at college and getting bullied for what he likes to do, this shown by the date toward the beginning of the song that it is the past. Through the video we see black and white flashes of the and wishing they could get somewhere with quick shots of the band playing today, we see the main character almost committing suicide but thinks what he could become which is shown on the billboards and the newspaper article, this main storyline links with the digi pak because the picture on one of our advert shows the main character with his guitar showing the audience what he wants to do however is on his own.
